Tragedy places the soldier in St. Patrick’s complex, determination to be someone of use keeps her within its walls. Her long, violent capture and imprisonment by Rochester sets her path of physical and psychological terror.

Under his rule she learns the depth of her own depravity, and how far she can go before she threatens to lose herself. But when Tomlin and his team rescues her, she discovers a new threat in the life she chooses to lead.

As the pages of her genetically-altered history are revealed, the solider finds the key to achieving her new goal: revenge.

It’s unfortunate it might just kill her in the end.

I could remember vaguely I had just fought against the muscular man, my body laying on the cold concrete the fetal position as I nursed my aching head. Usually a good thump or, as I had experienced this time,a smash against the corner of the table, was enough to take me down.

So I lay there, my frayed hair collecting the pooling blood from my wound when a loud and foreign noise reached my ringing ears. It was an alarm, and it frightened me.

Both hands instantly went to my ears as I tried to block out the klaxon, my feet kicking against the legs of my table where I had slept.

All I remember is fighting against the sound. The door opened then, I was vaguely aware of someone coming in, the door closing quickly. I was still keening and fought to regain some control.

Then the hands came down on my shoulders. A terrifying noise ripped from my throat as I again went into survival mode. Jumping up,I reached out my bloodied digits, aiming for the neck of my next contender before hearing a name spoken aloud.

Both the name and voice were familiar to me and I froze as the man said it again. I shook my head to clear the liquid that was now running over my eye, my own blood from my head wound. I gritted my teeth and grabbed the man around his wrists, forcing him against a wall and knowing I could snap the bones and kick in his knee in one swift move.

The man didn't fight back. Instead, he opened his eyes wide and attempted to talk to me, something that was still outside of my understanding. It reached me enough that I was forced to look into his face.

Tomlin. The name reached my lips and brain at the same moment and instantly I knew this person was not after me.

Fighting my primal nature, flung myself backwards across the room, flattening against the wall and watching the man who in turn was staring back at me,alarmed. He rubbed his wrists absentmindedly, a ring of blood transferred from my hands to his sleeves. I could tell he was scared for me. I could smell the fear.

His own personal defeat was palpable as he tried to reason with me. Looking back now I am sure he was asking me to calm down, to leave with him peaceably. He held up a sedative that would perhaps make it easier.

I saw him hold up the needle and I went crazy. Tomlin's eyes flashed disbelief as I hurled myself toward him, my hand raised in combat. I landed four good punches to his face and head before the man threw a strong kick to my midsection that sent me stumbling back, crashing against the wall.

He looked down as his wrist watch chimed. I knew his time was up as he shook his head. With a sad expression,he wiped the blood from his mouth, a heavy line still trailing from his nose, looking back at me one last time before he re-opened the door, leaving quickly.

It would be days before I realized what had happened. I had sabotaged my own rescue.

 Life's Hope
(Life's #2)

With the resolve of a child who had grown too much to return home, Seleah stayed away from St. Patrick's complex for twelve years after her devastating abduction and rescue from criminal mastermind Rochester’s clutches.

When her former lover and friend, Tomlin, calls with the news of her beloved mentor's demise, however, she decides to come back to the school and her course is altered dramatically.

Tomlin can’t stand being away from Seleah any longer. He wants her, needs her to return for good. His stupidity was almost his downfall. Now, life has given him a second chance.

But with their reunion comes jealousy and hatred from an outside source, threatening to kill them both and the new life they are seeking.

The pair must learn to accept each other once more; to heal wounds and scars alike, and decide if their paths can really exist together forever. Passion, sadness, violence, and the resiliency of love await in Life’s Hope.

I pulled away, knowing if I didn't we would end up in a compromising situation. On the other hand, pulling the woman back into the pitch black hall and making love to her until she cried out my name did have a certain appeal.

I shook my head as I dismissed the idea, watching Seleah’s face flush. I had forgotten that she, like St. Patrick, possessed the talent of reading ones intentions. It was much more revealing than most people knew.

She inclined her head, “Another time?” I nodded and closed the panel, watching her from the darkness. Her words held a promise that I hoped was true.

Now that I had regained a taste of her, my Seleah was like a drug, coursing through my veins, a disease, ravaging my every thought and making my body tingle.

That my mind only came up with negative comparisons I was well aware. I just couldn't be sure yet if that was a good thing or not.
